You are trying to defend the indefensible. There is zero justification for riding like that - it is selfish, inconsiderate, illegal and dangerous. It is also very exciting to watch, but that does not stop it being all the above. It is antisocial! To propose that it's not to bad because they'll only hurt themselves, or maybe break a collar bone, is plain bonkers. If it were me, laid up with a broken leg after some daft twunt had ridden into me like that, I'd be unable to console myself with your words, as I sat at home on zero pay waiting for the break to heal.
